The Milky Way may have grown up faster than astronomers suspected
The Milky Was was shaped by a collision with a dwarf galaxy about 10 billion years ago. The Milky Way has been continuously getting bigger over time by colliding and merging with other, smaller galaxies over time. So, what does this mean for us? It means no harm to us, but it does open up more opportunities for astronomers to do more detailed research. They are excited to see what new pieces of information we can get from knowing this new information!

Wow. This is a cool article because as the Milky Way expands, I bet we can get a lot better understanding of it. The Satellite pictures will probably look a lot cooler too. Lets just hope it doesn't get too big too fast, we wouldn't want those crazy stars hitting Earth now would we.
ReplyDeleteNo I don't think we would....... CAPLUNK ( that's us when a stat hits Earth)
DeleteI can't believe that the milky way is 10 billion years old. That's very old. I also never knew that it was formed with a dwarf galaxy which is very cool.
