Polar Bears mating with Grizzly Bears

Due to climate change, grizzly bears are starting to move north, and polar bears have started to mate with grizzly bears. The hybrid "pizzly" bear is a result of rising temperatures. "Polar bears have longer skulls, but their molars are smaller than what is typical for their body size... Grizzlies on the other hand eat whatever they want... perhaps the intermediate skull of the pizzly bear could confer a biomechanical advantage." (Larisa DeSantis)

The first sighting of a pizzly bear was back in 2006, but since then, the sightings have increased.

Who knows what kind of animal hybrids will come next.

  1. Frist I just wanna say how I think that it is really sad how the polar bears and grizzly bears have to move because of the climate change. Also, I have never heard of pizzly bears before so I am going to go google what the look like. Hi I'm back and they are so cute! I want to pet one.

  2. I think it was very interesting learning about this hybrid/ breed "pizzly" bear. I have never even heard of something like it! But on the other side this article is semi- sad because bears have to move due to climate change. That is a lot of moving around and imagine if they have babies to bring with them! It's just very sad that they have to work so hard just so they don't freeze to death or die of heat exhaustion.
