New Covid-19 Strain Will Become Most Dominant in March 2021
According to researchers from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the new strain of Covid-19 will soon become the most dominant strain in the U.S. This new strain is highly more contagious than the original strain, and it is projected to reach all of the United States in early April of this year. Since this strain is fifty percent more transmittable, it could cause the most Covid-19 cases in the country by March, according to researchers. However, by vaccinating one million people per day, it could substantially reduce the number of Coronavirus cases. Even though this new variant of the disease is at a low number now, it still has the potential to drive a surge in the U.S. cases. Currently there is 76 definite cases across twelve states, however, this number will most likely triple very quickly. I think that this is important because now even more people will become infected with the disease, and the amount of Covid-19 cases will quickly begin to spiral out of control. This will effect the people of this country and have even a higher impact on the economy if this causes a record high amount of cases. Also, I think that if some people continue to not practice the proper rules for prevention, that Covid-19 will last for many years to come.
