Plastic is killing our animals
"This is not just an ocean issue, it's a land issue, too. It's everywhere." About 390,000 camels live in the United Arab Emirates. Plastic kills around 1% of them. Of 30,000 camels that were found dead around 300 had stomachs packed with plastic. When the camels eat the plastic it clogs the stomach. This is called polybezoars. Since their stomachs are filled with plastic they do not eat because they think they are not hungry anymore. This causes them to starve to death.
This may not seem important to many people but it is. It is not just the camels effected by the amount of plastic we use. The best way to solve this problem, to not only help the camels, but also the marine life we must ban the use of plastics. If everyone would use reusable water bottles, reusable bags, metals straws, etc. we would help all of our animals.

It is sad to think that camels along with many other animals are dying because of the trash we leave around. I never thought about how animals would starve to death because they are filled with plastic. i agree that we should ban the use of plastics.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with the ban of plastics, but it definitely isn't going to be an overnight thing so I think that if separate communities come together and lower the use of plastic it will eventually make a big difference and then hopefully the change to no plastic at all will be way easier, and we can get to saving our planet and animals.
ReplyDeleteI agree that we should ban the use of plastics. I think this has been an issue for far too long. We shouldn't waste any more time and take action now. If we do not start this project soon, it will be too far along to stop everything we are doing.
