Perfumes Collect in Distant Ice
In the article "Perfumes from everyday products collect in distant ice" states that perfumes from everyday products like soaps and cleaners are actually getting caught in the ice located in remote areas. A researcher on the team named Marco Vecchiato stated that "everyday activities -just washing your hands and taking a shower- may have an impact" far from your bathroom." The problem keeps growing, the more perfume products that are used increases the amount of substances introduced into the atmosphere. In different layers, there is a difference in perfume based on the levels of poverty and money. It is especially an issue near Mount Elbrus which is where this problem is occurring.
I thought this was a very interesting article because it is not something people are worried about. We should be concerned about it because ice evaporates and that water then turns into rain which could poison the lands. This could also affect the stratosphere.
The article was interesting to me because I've always thought about how the atmosphere could be polluted. Most people think that gases and poisons only pollute the air, but many other things, including perfumes, can too. Maybe this problem is affecting global warming.
ReplyDeleteThis article is actually very interesting and concerning. I actually heard that about 95% of the chemical's used in perfumes causes environmental problems. I wouldn't have expected that an everyday item that we use to make ourselves smell good could have that much of an impact on the environment.
ReplyDeleteI thought this article was very interesting and it made me think about how much pollution we actually put into the environment. When we think of pollution we think about plastic or trash, not perfume. So this article just made me realize that many other things in this world are pollution too, and we need to protect the Earth. Do you really think perfume will affect our land?
